Born and raised in the Netherlands, a country where rainy days are part of everyday life, I quickly became familiar with the frustration of cheap, disposable umbrellas. They broke easily, felt flimsy, and were treated as throwaway items — never built to last, never made with care.

Like many, I used to buy whatever was available, knowing it wouldn’t last long — but accepting it because “it was just an umbrella.”

Until one day, I asked myself a simple question: Why settle?
